Christmas is by far my
favorite holiday. I am in full hostess mode. I get to decorate, create, love, cook,
bake, watch feel good movies, drinks hot tea and coffee and reflect on all I
have to be thankful for.

Black Friday, FUNDAY
I HATE crowds, I hate
rude people, I hate fighting over something. With that being said, I LOVE
spending time with my girls. That is what Black Friday means to me. It is not
about the TVs, Game Stations or Games. We do not set out with any expectations
on merchandise, the only expectation is that we are going to have a great time
together and we are going to most defiantly laugh at someone else’s expense.
Usually the laughs come at seeing others get mad, upset or impatient.

Christmas Time is Coming
Everything around me seems to be pointing to Christmas, we haven’t even celebrated
Thanksgiving yet! I think I am starting to cave. The main reason is it takes
about 5 days to get fully decorated for Christmas at our Cabin. Being the 28th,Thanksgiving
runs late in the month this year, if I wait until after Thanksgiving, I will
be running too far into December. So the decorating will begin this weekend.

Fall, Our Favorite Time Of The Year
For Sweet Man and I, fall is our favorite season. It is a time for cuddling, hot cocoa, tea and coffees. It is a time for sweaters, campfires, blankets and sitting about enjoying the cool breezes. Most of all Fall reminds us of the place we most long to be, The Mountains. So it is no wonder that I decorate our Log Home for Fall as it was Christmas.

Mountain Fall Weddings
We live in Florida and
are quite accustomed to beach weddings, which are beautiful. Since my heart is with the mountains, I love a mountain wedding. Sweet Man and I were just
riding away last fall in North Carolina. No real destination. We are notorious for a day
with no plans at all and see where we end up.

Hospitality, a Forgotten Art
I truly believe if God
had another gift of the Spirit, it would be hospitality, maybe the writer forgot
to mention it, or just maybe it was lost in translation. Hospitality is defiantly
wrapped up in other spiritual gifts. I know for a fact that it is one of my gifts. When I say Hospitality, I don’t just mean hostessing/Hosting,
I mean guests too. Our culture as a whole today has lost it. I wish we could
find it, but we are living in a memememe society. You HAVE to make a conscious effort
to find it and keep it!

Promise Breakers
As I was sitting in church, our
sermon was on "Covenant Keepers-Losers Weepers", it was a reminder that we as a
society are nothing but a bunch of promise breakers. Church looks no different
than the world. Of course there are good hearted people in church who do their
best to serve God. There are also good hearted people of the world who do their
best to be good hearted people.

Hats off!!!!! I mean ON!!!!
Original posting April 2011
As most of you know, I was in Guatemala for 10 days with my baby
girl (don't tell her I said that, she is 17) and a group of wonderful people
from our Church .
It was an amazing opportunity. We to help put a roof on the dormitory for Faith In Action. If you get a moment, check
them out. Think about becoming a sponsor, donate, visit.... as we did....

Rain Lilies
It can get super hot in Central
Florida. Which means that lawns turn crispy in the summer. One thing that
brightens the day is seeing the rain lilies pop up. Over the years, I dig them
up from the lawn and plant them in beds. This means I have groups of them all
over. You should try it!!

Be Light In The Darkness
Matthew 5: 15 Neither
do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its
stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let
your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your
Father in heaven.

Stay at Home Moms are Underrated
I admit it, I have
been very blessed, our girls have been blessed, sweet man has been blessed, the
whole family has because I have been able to stay home with the girls.

Tea For Two
I have such a passion for tea! I do not discriminate, any tea
will do. Of course like most, I have my favorites. I usually choose a herbal
mix with a fruity taste.. At nighttime, I love a green tea or a chamomile Will do
just fine. There is a large misconception among tea drinkers. They think tea is
loaded with caffeine. It is just the opposite!! Take a look:

Down Home Goodness
There is nothing like comfort food. And when you pair
comfort food with fellowship, you have something that reminds you of the fruits God has given us.

Unstoppable
The bible tells us that it is only by grace that we are saved, there
is nothing we can do to earn the grace. It just is, like God. There is no need
to explain, there could be no explanation as to why we as sinners should be
given eternal life in the glory of our Savior. I cannot think of one thing I
have done that could possibly earn me the grace that my Father has shown me.
Ephesians 2:8-9 ESV
For by grace you have
been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of
God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Who Influences Your Children’s Lives?
I
saw a cartoon not long ago that the top half were parents asking child, what is
going on at with their grades? Then the side half is of today and the
parent asking the teacher the same thing. Roles sure have changed in the last
few decades in what we are excepting and what are setting as examples in our
home. And then we had our family pastor at our church lead
services and what impressed upon my heart is to follow:

Things I learned in 2012
Although at times we all go through the stage thinking we know it
all and there is not possibly anything else we can learn. I however am humbled
each year as I reflect in the lessons the year brought to my life. And 2012 is
no different….
