Just Say No

So we all have birthdays, we all love to get gifts. We all love to celebrate. But why would some of us want to put our friends in an awkward position.

Being Glammy

When the kids first got married, I had told them I did not want to be a grandma for a long time. Afterall, I don’t look like a grandmother, I certainly don’t act like a grandmother and at my 29 years, I am not old enough to be a grandmother ;)

Life is Full of Firsts

As a mom of 2 girls, My mind has always been set at dresses, barbies and bows. I was a girl scout leader of 2 troops for 10 years, my husband has coached girls soccer for 15+ years. It has always been all about girls at my house.
My girls playing soccer was the closest I got to boy stuff. So when my friend asked me about doing an invitation for her son’s 2nd Birthday party, I was all in. I love a challenge. I love my friend. So consider it done. She had a Tonka party for him. Here is the invite I came up with!

My oldest daughter has always been a very girlie girl. We never even considered having a boy. She WAS having a girl. Period. End of story. So much to our surprise that she was having a boy, we never even thought it was a possibility.
It seems that God thought we needed a boy in the family. Turns out, this little guy is exactly what our family needed I could not be more excited about the next chapter in our lives having a grandson, there will be so many firsts for all of us.
He turned 8 weeks yesterday.

 This is one happy Glammy!

Peace, Love and EnJoy

Mustache and BowTies Baby Shower Part Three

In case you missed part one and two of my Mustache and BowTies Blog:
Part One: http://loghomemom.blogspot.com/2014/05/mustache-and-bowties-baby-shower-part.html

Part Two: http://loghomemom.blogspot.com/2014/06/mustache-and-bowties-baby-shower-part.html

My sister and I have been living our lives seperately for a few years, time goes by you get caught up in your own lives then suddenly you realize how very important family is. I am so glad that for the last few years we have made each other a priority. Barely a week goes by now that we don't text, talk or see each other and of course facebook makes daily communication a must!!
My sister graciously wanted to be part of the events leading up to the shower, so she flew in a few days before. She worked tirelessly on shower surprises for Dani.

Mustache and BowTies Baby Shower Part Two

If you haven't read Part One, you can go here:
Mustache and Bowties Baby Shower Part One

We had a series at church about legacies. The definition of legacy is something handed down. Legacies are not always a material object. They can be a tradition or memories. There is an app called Marble Legacy. It counts down the weekends that you have left with your child until he/she graduates high school.

Mustache and BowTies Baby Shower Part One

You might ask what is that all about, well it is about the little guy we were all expecting to come into this world. He is here and his Glammy finally has time to sit and write about his welcoming party.

I know I have said before that I have been blessed with girls that have allowed me to throw parties for them. My oldest even let me do her wedding with little input! She wanted to help with the shower but I wanted her to be just as surprised as everyone else.  As soon as she gave me a theme, I went with it. I just love the chevron patterns and burlap so I threw those in to.

Animal Hoarders

By Animals Hoarders, I am not talking about people who hoard animals. I am talking about animals that hoard objects.

Morning Wonders

Sweet Man and I went for a walk around our property. before he headed out this morning. Mainly to look at the blueberry and blackberry patch he made me. We have a topsy turvy that we tried last year to grow tomatoes and herbs, unsuccessfully. A few weeks ago, he decided to plant a few strawberries in it.

Spring Has Sprung

It’s early February here in Florida. Someone forgot to mention that to the wildlife and flowers. Today the birds are buzzing about with playful flights, weaving in and out like a kite. The flowers, the few we have, are in full bloom. We have started our seedlings and started tilling the garden. What signs do I really know Spring is here?

Things 2013 Taught Me

"Always take the road less traveled, it will bring you to places you would have never seen" LHM

If your year didn’t teach you something, was it all for nothing? I don’t believe “anything” is for “nothing”. Whether it be trials or joys, we have to take something away from the situation. Sometimes it feels like we just can’t handle another day, but we have a great promise in our Creator that we will bear suffering but there is always a way out. He tells us that our time lost will be replaced to the fullest. So in the midst of suffering, remember there will be a clearing and it will be wonderful. Just as spring comes out of winter, we will come out of our suffering.
This year has been one of trials and great joys.

Be All That God Has Called You To Be

I am seeing more and more young ladies acting not so lady like. Especially young Christian Ladies.
Ladies, you are called to stand apart from the world not fall right it. People should be able to tell who you by the way you look, behave, talk and the pictures you post. Being young and wanting to have "fun" is no excuse, you can have all the fun you want as long as it is a reflection of Christ.
