Christmas Makes Me Feel Emotional

Christmas is by far my favorite holiday. I am in full hostess mode. I get to decorate, create, love, cook, bake, watch feel good movies, drinks hot tea and coffee and reflect on all I have to be thankful for.

Mostly, Jesus is at the forefront and people are more brave to speak out about Him. It is a sad time that we live that we have to be brave to speak out about Jesus. He is brave for us each day. We need to speak up about Him and His truths. He came and gave His life for us but we are afraid to talk about Him? What is wrong with that picture? I pray that we become a Nation that freely talks of His truths without the fear (or in spite of the fear) of what might offend our friends or even strangers. No matter how commercialized Christmas gets, it will ALWAYS be CHRISTmas. He will ALWAYS be the reason for the season. You can pretend it isn’t so, but that does not make it not so. He loves you and wants you to not only read His truths but to live by them. I encourage you to pick up your Bible and know what God says for yourself. And NOT turn it into what you want. My heart breaks when people treat the bible has a buffet and take what they want and leave behind the rest. That is not what God intended for us. 2 Timothy 2:15 says “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” Be mindful of how you present God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit to people. You are a reflection of Christ and how you live your life represents Him. What does that life say to others? Be more mindful of not how many people you have led to Christ but of how many people you have turned away from Christ. To live as a Christian, is to live by the Word, knowing we are sinners but we are saved by grace.

Christmas is CHRIST. It is not the gifts, it is the reflection of Him in honoring Him with the Season and remembering what HE did for US.

My motto is what am I doing today to create Memories for Tomorrow. Afterall, the memories is what those we touched have of us. Don’t we want those to be the best to our ability? Next Christmas our children will not remember the gifts they received but the memories that were created. Those memories can not be so good, I know. Make the most, the best!
