Mustache and BowTies Baby Shower Part Three

In case you missed part one and two of my Mustache and BowTies Blog:
Part One: http://loghomemom.blogspot.com/2014/05/mustache-and-bowties-baby-shower-part.html

Part Two: http://loghomemom.blogspot.com/2014/06/mustache-and-bowties-baby-shower-part.html

My sister and I have been living our lives seperately for a few years, time goes by you get caught up in your own lives then suddenly you realize how very important family is. I am so glad that for the last few years we have made each other a priority. Barely a week goes by now that we don't text, talk or see each other and of course facebook makes daily communication a must!!
My sister graciously wanted to be part of the events leading up to the shower, so she flew in a few days before. She worked tirelessly on shower surprises for Dani.

Take a look at some of her creations!

Diaper Stroller with soft Tonka Truck Wheels

She put one of Dani's stuffed animals
from when she was a baby in the stroller

Diaper Babies, the diapers had monkeys on them so they turned into Monkey Babies. They are wrapped in a Baby Washcloth and their "hats" are baby Super Hero Socks!

She made a cake with the left over diapers, and wrapped it in burlap, the spoon was Dani's when she was a baby.

A Super Hero Blanket and pillow she made before she got here.

It was so beautiful sharing this special and exciting time with my sister.

We had lots of tears, lots of laughter and most importantly, built memories.

Our Kitchen Selfie the day of the shower!

I am fortunate to be her sister, but now that we are older, I am Blessed to be her friend. My heart was full that week!

My youngest Daughter, Abi, was such a big inspiration! She is very creative also, so she jumped right in with helping make many of the items for the shower. I could not have done it without her help. She is such a special girl. She is going to go down as the best Auntie EVER!

This momma is amazed that God gave me such beautiful daughters, inside and out!

Anyone who knows me knows I am all about the food.
I knew I wanted something useful and delicious for take home gifts for all the guests At first I was thinking strawberry jam because strawberries were in season. I mentioned this to my daughter and she said, how about blueberry jam because he is a boy! Why didn't I think of that! I ended up making 70 jars of scrumptious Blueberry Jam! We had a few children rsvp, I had giant pixie sticks for them. Of course this is enjoy at home ;)

The food had to be dapper! I wanted it to be a classic shower that would be remembered.
Abi put together our napkins and fork bowties. The napkins were simply folded into 3 around the fork and a piece of ribbon hot glued on the ends.

I usually make scones when we have a large gathering but I had a request for my dream drops. I can never make just one flavor so there was 4 based on our colors: Brown, Blue, Green and Yellow. So I made Chocolate Hazelnut Coffee, Blueberry, Watermelon and Lemon.

My daughter also requested her favorite tea sandwich, Cucumber. She could eat these all day!
I had one other tea sandwich, my Olive, Walnut CreamCheese. You have to love green olives to love this sandwich! It is such a creamy delight!

What Mustache and BowTie party would not be complete without some BowTie Pasta. In which we had 2!
I made a Mini BowTie Pasta Salad with grapes and broccoli! This stuff was addicting!!!!

I also made fried BowTies! These are such a scrumptious snack! I will share the recipe at the end of this post. They are best eaten fresh (day of) but you can put them in an airtight container to enjoy later.
You will find BOTH of the recipes at the bottom of this blog post ;)

I made a simple skewered Capresse with Tomatoes, Mozzarella Balls and a Basil Leave. They were topped with a Balsamic reduction.

The Main Dish was my Mini Quiches. I made 120 Ham, Cheese, Onion and Pepper and just Ham and Cheese. They were gone in a flash!

We topped it off with Mini Waters, Fresh Iced Tea and a Dapper Punch, which is one of my daughter’s favorite drink.

And of Course we had to have a tea bar and fresh coffee!

So there you have our wonderful Mustache and BowTie Shower. My daughter was so very surprised and loved everything about it. She said she could pick just one thing as her favorite! Here are some wonderful memories:

I hope you enjoy these tasty treats, I also hope you fall in love with this theme as much as I did.

Cook Bowtie Pasta 1/2 of the recommended on the box time. Drain in Colander, leave colander in sink, if the bowties start to stick run water over them before putting in pan. Heat Olive Oil, when you can flick water from your hands into oil and it pops it is ready. I know, I am using science here!

Fry the bowties until light brown, immediately drain on paper towels and put into bowl. Spritz lemon juice (or toss in small amount) and toss with Bread Crumb mixture. Keep working until you use all of the bowties.
