Cleaning Votive Candle Holders

When our daughter got married almost 4 years ago (Happy 4th Anniversary on August 14th!), we did all of the decorating ourselves.
This meant finding some great bargains. I got over 100 little glass votive holders on Craigs List for $5. I have used these over and over. I use the tea light candles inside that have the aluminum lining. People mean well when helping clean up, but they are not thinking of the after effects. They just blow on the candles, which splatters the hot liquid all over. When that dries in is an ugly mess. Almost all of the holders were covered inside with a thin layer of wax. After trying everything to clean them, I thought “I really need to get these hot and wipe them out”.
I came up with this easy clean up and brand new again Votive Holders!

Step By Step Candle Holder Clean Up
I preheated the oven at 175*

I lined my baking sheets with aluminum foil:

I then turned the holders upside down on the sheets:

Next I put them in the oven for about 10 minutes, you will see the wax melt and fill the foil:

I took one tray out at a time and working swiftly because I had a lot, I took a papertowel and wipe them out and dropped them in a sink of hot soapy water. After washing, I turned them upside down to dry:

They are sparkly clean and brand new looking again!!!

Simple, no cost and little effort!

Peace, Love and EnJoy!
